ISBN number - International Standard Book Number.
Barcode - Bookland EAN Barcode with price extension.
UPC Code - Universal Product code. You only use this code if you're selling to other retail markets besides bookstores.
ABI - Advanced Book Information. Apply for this 3 to 6 months before you print in order to be listed in the Books In Print directory. When you apply for your ISBN number, this form will accompany your application.

LCCN - Library of Congress Control Number. This number goes on the copyright page. This is the Pre-assigned Control Number Program.
CIP - Cataloging in Publication. This number also goes on the copyright page and you have to be a registered publisher in order to obtain this number. For more information write to the Library of Congress, Cataloging in Publication Division, COLL/CIP (4320), Washington, DC 20450-4320.
Copyright - your book is automatically copyright protected, but not copyright registered. Once your book is published, you should always send for copyright registration to protect its contents.
